Absentee ballot and voting information:

Applications for absentee ballots are available before an election by contacting your County Clerk(link: County Clerk’s office), and some (but not all) county clerks are mailing absentee ballot requests to all registered voters in their counties several weeks before an election.  Absentee ballot requests can be downloaded to your computer from the  New Mexico Secretary of State's website or County Clerk website (see above) at:  https://www.sos.state.nm.us/voting-and-elections/voter-information-portal/absentee-and-early-voting/  . This form needs to be printed, filled out, and returned.  If you are in Santa Fe County the address is: Office of the County Clerk, 100 Catron Street, Box 1985, Santa Fe, NM, 87501.  You may also be able to fill out the form online through the SOS website.

You may receive a letter in the mail from the Center for Voter Information in  Washington DC.  This is a legitimate application for an absent voter ballot.

Register to vote online at SOS.state.nm.us

• You must have a driver’s license
• Or state identification card issued by MVD
• Social security number
