You can get ready by downloading the playlist lyrics to your phone and practicing along with recordings of the songs. Then, on Saturday, July 18, come to the west side of the Roundhouse from 10:00-11:00 AM to join in!

Brian J will lead us in singing some of the freedom songs from the Selma to Montgomery marches of 1965, marches that demonstrated the desire of African-American citizens to exercise their right to vote.

Comments Ending - LANL Plutonium Pit Production Plan 🚨

Tewa Women United encourages community members to submit your comment on Los Alamos National Laboratory's plan for increased plutonium pit production before midnight on July 16.

Continued and increased production of pits at LANL has detrimental effects on the health and well-being of our environment and community members.

ONME is a nonpartisan effort, led by New Mexicans and supported by The Carter Center, to strengthen trust and transparency in state elections. On Tuesday, July 7, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Houston, Texas.

Lorenzo had been in the US for thirty-five years, building a life, raising a family, and sending his three sons to college. He was going about his normal morning -- driving his work van with his crew to a job site -- when he was gunned down by ICE agents. His son Ronaldo found out that his father had been killed when he saw a video of Lorenzo bleeding out on the street on social media.

This killing happened as ICE drastically ramps up its operations with a surge of enforcement nationwide, with daily arrests doubling in the last week of June and continuing to climb in July. This violence isn’t just a side effect -- this is ICE’s goal.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo should be alive today. He should have spent this weekend watching the World Cup with his kids. Instead he’s the latest name on the ever-growing list of lives claimed by ICE’s reckless, out of control reign of terror. 

Keith Porter, Renee Good, Alex Pretti, Silverio Villegas González, and Ruben Ray Martinez were gunned down by ICE agents. 

Nurul Amin Shah Alam and Daphy Michel were abandoned by ICE and left helpless to die on frozen streets. 

A staggering 21 people that we know of so far this year have died in ICE’s detention facilities and the pace of deaths is rising fast.

And just this morning, we’re getting breaking reports of another ICE killing of a man in Biddeford, Maine. We don’t know many details yet, but the pattern is clear -- and devastating.

As in so many of the cases above -- ICE is doing its best to hide the truth of what they did to Lorenzo. The three men who were witnesses to the shooting are being held at a private detention center; reports indicate that the administration has tried to rush their deportations. ICE is not cooperating with local law enforcement. It’s the same playbook we’ve seen ICE use before to justify state violence.

ICE is counting on us to believe their lies and to let Lorenzo’s story fade into the background of a crowded news cycle -- but we need to make it impossible for them to get away with it. So I’ve got two asks for you:

1. Join Wednesday’s mass call with our partners at Disappeared in America, Justice for Lorenzo: Day of Action and Accountability Movement Call (8pm ET/5pm PT). On this mass call, we will hear from Lorenzo’s loved ones, get updates about the case, and learn how to take action to demand justice for Lorenzo and his family.
2. Organize a vigil for Lorenzo and the victims of ICE violence. We’re already seeing Indivisible groups take to the streets -- wherever you are, it’s time to show up and add your voice.

Too many families have been ripped apart by the cruelty and violence of ICE. It’s time to demand accountability.

Your weekly to-dos

1. Join the Justice for Lorenzo Mass Call this Wednesday, July 15 to mourn the loss of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and learn about plans for collective action against ICE’s deadly violence against our neighbors (8pm ET/5pm PT). Lorenzo was a dad and husband driving to work with his crew when he was shot and killed by ICE. It’s on us to reject their cruel playbook, demand answers and accountability, and do everything we can to halt the ICE deportation and death machine. Join Wednesday’s call to take action in solidarity with Lorenzo, his family, and all people impacted by ICE’s unchecked violence and terror in communities across the US.
2. Call your US senators, and demand they reject Trump’s request for $87 BILLION in additional funding to fuel his illegal war with Iran. Trump has steamrolled over bipartisan War Powers Resolutions in Congress and escalated aggression again, just TODAY declaring the US the “Guardian” of the Strait of Hormuz and engaging in heavy drone and missile strikes. Congress needs to act immediately to put an end to Trump’s blatant and unconstitutional abuse of power and reject any more funding for this war.
3. Then, call your US representative and demand the same. Our Members of Congress must be united in their rejection of one more cent for Trump’s unauthorized, unprovoked war. Once you’ve called, follow up with a quick email.
4. If you have a Democratic senator, keep calling them to oppose the CLARITY Act, the toothless crypto regulation bill that would do NOTHING to rein in Trump’s crypto empire. A revised version of the CLARITY Act is about to be voted on, still without any language on ethics limits for senior government officials’ business ties with crypto. Trump made $1.4 BILLION from the crypto industry in 2025 alone -- Senate Democrats must firmly reject any and all faux crypto “regulation” bills that do nothing to actually address this corruption. (Confused about crypto? You’re not alone -- the crypto industry makes it opaque on purpose so we won’t be empowered to take action. Listen to last week’s What’s the Plan featuring actor and activist Ben McKenzie to demystify crypto corruption.)
5. Join a Good Trouble Lives On event near you this Saturday, July 18 to honor the legacy of civil rights leader Congressman John Lewis and take action to protect voting rights. In the midst of the most dangerous rollback of civil rights in decades, we must take up the mantle of “Good Trouble” and organize in our communities to engage and educate voters. You may see Teach! Reach! Preach! Weekend of Action events scheduled Friday through Sunday, with a focus on the Reach! day on Saturday. Don't see an event near you? There’s still time to host onewith your community.
6. TONIGHT, Monday, July 13, join our kickoff call for Justin J. Pearson (TN-09) feat. Indivisible’s co-director Ezra Levin (8pm ET/7pm CT/5pm PT). Join Indivisibles across the country to hear about our plans to get Pearson across the finish line in Tennessee’s primary on August 6. Pearson rose to national prominence as one of the "Tennessee Three” and is a bold leader for civil rights and an advocate for working people.
