Heading into Friday, I wasn't sure what was going to happen. The weather forecast certainly wasn't promising. I kept hearing more serious weather at each turn. BUT, I must say I was proud of our group of 15 who had signed up. They had a surprising response when I sent out the news that the SOF Vigils would be canceled because of the bad weather ❄️ since the signs, as beautiful as they are, were not waterproof. They still wanted to hold the vigils and understood they had to bring their own signs showing support to the May Day Strong 💪 theme.
They were ready to handle whatever kind of weather blew in.
So being the eternal optimist, I said, let's do it! And we did it! 🚀 We had two very successful vigils sans the Signs of Fascism signs and had just enough extra protest signs to cover those that didn't get the message. The day was awesome, a bit chilly but warmed through the morning until the sun came out ☀️ and we had blue skies!
Everyone was great and I think we all felt we had received a good response from the vehicles at both sites: Home Depot and Target. We were a powerful sight with all 28 of us spread out along the sidewalks. I want to thank everyone who join our special vigils. I couldn't have done it without each and every one of you!

Now, everyone is anxiously awaiting doing a real SOF vigil. Ellen Hill is back (and we are so glad she is) and will be sending out information about the May SOF events soon. You can contact her: ellenhill@proton.me
I will be sending out the May schedule for all of the May Banner Drops too. We will have five May drops dedicated to encouraging folks to go vote 🗳️ in the primaries. Please contact me: lindawilderflatt@proton.me if you are interested.
