Showing up with the Body Politic

Drinking Liberally 🍷

Tonight, November 3 starting at 5:00 PM, at Boxcar SF, 133 W. Water Street: come and watch national and local election returns. You're welcome to stay and watch for as long as you wish.

We will have a drawing to kick off the season of giving. Several local businesses have contributed to thank you all for being a part of our Drinking Liberally community. A big thanks to: Cafe Canyon, Garcia Street Books, the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MOCNA) and Karina on Canyon.

Post-Election Community Zoom 💻

Many are biting their nails and holding their breath awaiting the outcome of voting on Election Day. Will there be disruptions and sabotage or a solid win strong enough to rout any interference with the results?

The ISF Steering Committee will host a community Zoom session tomorrow, November 4, at 7:00 PM, to assess the state of play and the road ahead.

Whatever happens, there will be work to be done.

You Voted. Now Shout It! 🎺📣

As mentioned in last week's newsletter, a group of Indivisible chapters across the state is planning coordinated gatherings in front of federal buildings on November 7, 11:30 AM -  1:00 PM.   At those gatherings, at noon, New Mexicans will make noise for democracy.

Please join if you can! Bring signs and noisemakers (pots and pans, horns, bells, kazoos, and bullhorns) to the federal courthouse at 106 S Federal Place.

You can even share what's on your mind at Speakers' Corner - though you may need to speak loudly 📢 😉

2026 Midterm Elections-You Voted, Now Shout It! · Mobilize
Celebration of each vote matters. We will gather with our loudest, most joyful noisemakers, pots and pans, drums, kazoos, bullhorns, bagpipes?! Together we will make good noise wherever you are at noon. Earplugs? Might be a good idea! Where? Santiago Campos US Courthouse, Santa Fe, NM When? 11:30-1:00, November 7th, 2026

Protect the Vote 🛡️

In this election our work doesn't end with voting. Take the pledge to help ensure that every vote is counted, every election is certified, and all election results are respected.

NO KINGS Election Defense Attendee Pledge · No Kings
**Sign the pledge to attend an event if a national rapid response mobilization is called.** Our job doesn’t end when we cast our vote. Commit to be part of the historic mass movement to save American democracy. We will not allow our votes to be ripped away from us by wannabe kings. In America, people power rules. **The voters rule.** We face a clear threat: an effort to end our democracy by disrupting elections, blocking voters from their ballots, tossing out our votes, and denying official results. Defeating this threat will take all of us in the largest mass movement of disciplined, nonviolent people power. We will make it clear: the American people will not sit by while our democracy dies. Together, we pledge to be part of the nonviolent mass movement that will enforce our democratic imperatives: every vote is counted, every election is certified, and all the results are respected. The No Kings movement stands ready to mobilize in response to attacks on our elections. By signing the No Kings pledge, you commit to be part of the solution, ready to join mass nonviolent action in rapid response to election disruption and subversion if needed. By providing your email address on this form, you agree to receive email updates from Indivisible and other No Kings Partners. You agree that Indivisible may share your full name, email, and zip code to No Kings Partners. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of an Indivisible email or following other unsubscribe instructions from No Kings Partners. **No thrones. No crowns. No surrender. No Kings.** *A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

Honk and Wave Turnout 🎉

From Linda F: A record-breaking 19 people turned out for the Friday Honk and Wave on October 30! It was exciting to see at least four or five signs on all four corners of Cerrillos and Zafarano!

SOF & VTR in the Railyard 🪧🚂

Also from Linda F (she's everywhere): Signs of Fascism and Vote to Restore made a joint appearance in the Railyard on October 31. The line of signs was so long it was impossible to get a good, up-close shot of the entire group.

The day was awesome, and the response made it clear that we were sending a powerful message.

Robbing the Poor
It’s hard not to laugh at how out of touch so many politicians are about affordability. Our president calls it a hoax and isn’t sure what the word “groceries” even means. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi gained fame for telling Americans to “pick another protein” if beef
