Saturday October 18 was a blow-out day for democracy demonstration in Santa Fe. Thousands of people marched across downtown Santa Fe, arriving at the Roundhouse to listen to music, engage with mutual aid, and "find their jam" with different groups organizing.
We set up Speakers' Corner on the Southeast side of the Roundhouse and finally got going around noon.
We had 37 distinct speakers. A few folks came up to speak multiple times, sometimes to clarify or expand on a thought, and sometimes with some new thoughts. We had a poet from Albuquerque who delivered some verse topical to the times. We even had Big Bird come up to encourage everyone to get out and vote.
There were many different thoughts, but one theme I picked up on was taking action. How can you do more? Where can you find your jam?
