National purpose with local action

Next meeting: January 26, 2026 at 7:00pm
Christ Lutheran Church
1701 Arroyo Chamiso Road, Santa Fe

A history of change ✊ This week as we celebrate Martin Luther King's legacy of advocating for and effecting change, let's remember that our current National Purpose is is a reminder of what the Civil Rights movement achieved. That incremental progress, affording to a large class of people their self-evident rights, will be undone along with those of so many others if a fascist regime is allowed to take hold. Look no further than the assault in Minnesota to understand what that will look like.

Showing up with the Body Politic

Signs of Fascism

Signs of Fascism Demonstration is a slow walking vigil done single file. The participants are dressed in black from head to toe. It is done in silence while holding signs that clearly state what Fascist Regimes do to dismantle democracies.
We are scheduling the SOF crew for every other week, weather permitting.
This week will be at Home Depot at 10. We will stand on the public sidewalk to the side of the store. Please do not park in the Home Depot parking lot. There's an IHOP that could accommodate a few cars. There are dude streets and other businesses where parking for a short time may be acceptable. We've heard snow is in the forecast so stay tuned.
Our next walk will be at the Plaza on February 7th. 11:30 Convention parking garage.
If you would like to join us please respond on the Element Demonstration Room. Scott is working to get the group switched to SOF room. Please RSVP so we know if the vigil is a "GO" Thank you everyone for the support!

Project Jupiter and NM Microgrids

Source NM put together an article describing the ecological impact of data centers and their on-site power grids.

A “microgrid” describes developments that generate electricity without drawing from a larger power company’s grid. These projects currently are not bound by requirements to generate power with cleaner energy sources and face less scrutiny by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission

And hopefully the larger part of that fall is only temporary🤞though it's becoming clear some damage is already permanent. Trust is really hard to win back, once lost.)

The idea that every human being has, from birth, the same value, the same worth, the same entitlement to rights as every other lays waste to any kind of superiority or supremacist ideology.
Remembering Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today, January 15th, is the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., born almost a century ago. It is important to remember who he was. When he was murdered in Memphis in 1968, Dr. King was in the city to support striking sanitation workers. The garbage men there—almost all of
