Dissent and Strength
Growing up in Albuquerque, my family had a small poodle who loved to hike in the Sandias. One day he chanced upon a bull. Possessing more cuteness than brains, to our horror he marched right up to the bull and began sniffing it. The bull responded with complete and utter

He passed away in May after a devastating battle with systemic scleroderma. The gofundme formerly dedicated to his medical expenses now supports his family in the wake of his passing.

It grew out of a Google Doc, and now has millions of US members – what’s the secret of Indivisible’s success?

There is a Peacekeeping & De-escalation training happening in Santa Fe on June 7, 9-12. This training introduces principles and methods of working with interpersonal conflict in nonviolent protest settings. It takes an approach of constructive engagement in conflict that moves participants away from destructive dynamics and towards mutually satisfactory solutions. The trainer is a life-long nonviolence activist, mediator, and holds a master's degree in conflict resolution. To join, email peacekeepers@swcp.com to register and get details about the location in Santa Fe.

The June 14th “No Kings” protest presents an enormous opportunity for Indivisible Santa Fe. We are a “People Power” movement.

Do you know of a perfect spot for a poster advertising the upcoming “No Kings” protest on June 14th? The bulletin board at your grocery store? Your favorite gastropub? Your lefty barber shop? Maybe you know of five such places just calling out for a “No Kings” poster. Now you can take the initiative and make that happen. Download the official Santa Fe flyer, print it out at home or your local copy shop, and start posting away. Let’s make “No Kings” Santa Fe’s biggest protest yet!

How Trump is affecting New Mexico this week

Congresswoman Leger Fernández joined the good fight against the "Bad Billionaire's Budget" bill:

Congresswoman Leger Fernández Condemns Passage of “Bad Billionaire’s Budget” After Nearly 30 Hours of Democratic Resistance
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Early this morning, after nearly 30 hours of continuous debate and resistance, House Republicans passed their “Bad Billionaire’s Budget”—a sweeping, multi-trillion-dollar proposal that rips health care and food assistance from millions of Americans in order to fund tax breaks for billionaires and mega-corporations. Every single House Democrat, including Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03), voted NO on the legislation.

The New Mexico Department of Justice has joined a coalition of 22 states challenging the Trump Administration's order to freeze federal funds, and has filed a temporary restraining order seeking to immediately restore funding for critical services.  The NMDOJ is gathering information about programs affected by the funding freeze. If your program has been impacted, let your voice be heard in this way by visiting https://nmdoj.gov/get-help/federal-disruptions/
